We are delighted to confirm that in the remaining months of 2019 and throughout 2020 Stephensons will be working towards becoming a “dementia friendly” organisation.
Dementia Friends is an initiative set up by The Alzheimers Society to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people living with dementia. In order to become a Dementia Friend it is necessary to undertake training with The Alzheimers Society and our commitment to becoming a dementia friendly organisation has started with our Wills and probate department attending this. From the training we obtained a great deal of useful information which we intend to implement within the department and, in addition to this, our next step will be to encourage all of our 400 plus employees to become Dementia Friends as we understand that dementia affects all ages and walks of life and it is therefore relevant when we are assisting our clients in all areas of the law.
Nicola Mawson, associate solicitor of Stephensons who is already a dementia champion comments “At Stephensons it is our aim to provide the best possible service and client care to all those we come into contact with. All of our teams across the firm aim to ensure that everyone, even the most vulnerable within society, can access the legal services they require. We have committed ourselves to turning our principles into actions and in the forthcoming months and years we will review and consider how we can improve the services we offer to those affected by dementia”
