Online Wills in return for charitable donation

Manchester law firm, Stephensons Solicitors LLP, is offering people the chance to have their Will drawn up in return for a charitable donation during November.

The leading law firm is taking part in Will Aid, a month long campaign in which solicitors give up their fees for making a Will in return for a donation to charity.

Will Aid supports nine charities which benefit people around the world. The charities are ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland). All are working to help people gain the tools, skills and support they need to improve their lives in the UK and around the world.

Olwen Williams, partner and Head of the Wills and Probate department at Stephensons, said: “While many people put off making a Will, now is the time to make plans for the future and make your wishes known.

“This November, we are providing an innovative way for people to make their Wills, as Will Aid clients can exclusively make them online via our website, www.stephensons.co.uk/willaid, where a special code, WA5, can be entered to make a Will in return for a donation to charity.

“We have taken part in Will Aid for three years, raising several thousand pounds for the worthwhile causes which Will Aid supports. I would urge those thinking about making a Will to make their wishes known by making an online Will with us during November and do something for charity at the same time.”

Stephensons’ online Will-writing tool gives people the ability to draw up their own Will, prompted by a range of questions. The Will is automatically sent to the firm’s qualified Wills and Probate solicitors to verify the details.
