North West law firm Stephensons Solicitors LLP is once again taking part in Will Aid, a month-long event during November in which people can make their Will online in return for a charitable donation.
As a participating law firm, Stephensons is giving up its usual fee for writing a Will, and instead people who use the firm’s online Will-writing service only, will be asked to make a donation. The proceeds are shared among nine deserving charities: ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland). All are working to help people gain the tools, skills and support they need to improve their lives in the UK and around the world.
Rob Gore, associate solicitor in Stephensons’ Wills and Probate team, said: “We have taken part in Will Aid for the last four years as it gives people who may have previously been complacent about making a Will, the option to make their wishes known while also helping nine worthy charities.
“We’ll be using our innovative online Will-writing tool during the month to make Wills available to people. All they have to do is visit our website from November 1st-30th. Our online tool prompts people to answer a range of questions which creates their individual Will. This is then automatically sent to one of our qualified Wills and Probate solicitors to verify the details.”
Those who choose to make their Will in this way will be encouraged to make a donation of just £90 for a single Will and £135 for a pair of 'matching' Wills.
