Business owners and HR managers are being urged to carry out a ‘spring clean’ of their employment policies and practices before the next round of employment law changes take effect in April.
Stephensons Solicitors LLP is holding a free employment law seminar for the regions’ business community to update them on the important changes at Wigan’s DW Stadium, on March 28th 2012.
Karen Baron, business management consultant and Philip Richardson, associate employment solicitor, will provide an essential update on how the April 2012 employment law changes will affect their business, as well as providing tips on how to avoid disputes in the first place.
Karen Baron said: “This event is essential for business owners who are serious about remaining compliant with employment law. There will be new employment tribunal awards in place, the qualifying period for unfair dismissal will be increased, and there are other amends to be noted. We will also be showing people what to watch out for when changing contracts.
“Now is the time to look at current policies and procedures to avoid costly disputes arising in the future. With such a large number of changes taking place, businesses are under more pressure to ensure they stay within the law. If they don’t, it could have serious financial consequences, no matter how unintended or perceived to be trivial the breach is.”
The event is free to attend at will take place on March 28th, with breakfast and networking from 8am, followed by the seminar at 8.30am. The event will close at 9.30am with questions from the audience.
To register your attendance, please email in advance to Lesley Davies at Stephensons: lad@stephensons.co.uk or call 01616 966 229.
