January – the month when many resolutions are made…and some broken. While many people are making pacts to improve their personal fitness and overall health this month, regional law firm Stephensons Solicitors LLP is offering business people the chance to improve the health and vitality of their company.
In a bid to help businesses kick start their ‘health drive’, Stephensons will provide a free employment law health check during January and February, to review policies and procedures in place and make recommendations where there is still room for improvement.
Karen Baron, business management consultant with Stephensons, said: “Business owners and managers are constantly under huge pressure to stay within the law, particularly concerning the treatment of their employees. January is the perfect time to take this free opportunity to look at employment law practices within the businesses, in order to avoid costly disputes later in the year.”
The employment law health check is carried out by Karen during a face to face interview in which the list of policies and procedures the business has in place to remain compliant will be reviewed. This includes everything from pay and benefits, to contracts, health and safety and recruitment procedures.
The health check will identify areas where greater attention is required and having one will help to avoid any unnecessary and costly disputes.
