Leading North-West law firm, Stephensons Solicitors LLP, congratulates new qualified solicitor at a time when they are experiencing an increase in demand for their housing law services.
The team provides tenants with legal advice for all aspect of housing law and related disputes. The firm has a network of 8 offices in the North West as well as offices in London. Over the past 12 months, there has been a recent growth across the housing department.
Kate Hancock, who works in the St Helens office, is the latest member of the housing team to become a qualified solicitor. She will be helping tenants to defend possession proceedings, injunction applications and committal applications.
Kate, who is from Warrington, said: “I feel proud to qualify as a Solicitor at Stephensons. I am pleased to be continuing my career in a growing team, which has such in depth knowledge of Housing Law. Although legal aid has been abolished for most cases, the law experts have a specialist quality mark from the Legal Aid Agency for housing cases, enabling them to provide assistance to clients free of charge if they qualify for help under the legal aid scheme.
The housing team acts for Legal Aid cases such as landlords seeking possession of a home, or refusing to repair a house and challenging local authorities on homelessness.
