Leading law firm Stephensons, based in Middlebrook, hosts seminars for finance and insolvency professionals each quarter. The next event will be held on July 9th 2014 at the Bolton Whites Hotel, De Havilland Way, Bolton from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
The topic of this next seminar will deal with identifying fraud within businesses.
Those who attend will gain an insight into the latest legal position on fraud in business finances, including insolvency situations from Stephensons’ insolvency solicitors and litigators. Attendees will also benefit from the expertise of two key special guest speakers, Mohammed Khamisa QC and Felicia Davy, barristers from leading chambers Thomas Bingham Chambers in London. Both are very highly regarded lawyers, regularly instructed for clients involved in civil and criminal court cases involving serious fraud.

Mohammed Khamisa QC and Felicia Davy will help us present a real insight into how to identify fraud, and when it is discovered in insolvency situations, what it means for accountants and their client.
“We shall also examine the consequences for lenders and the impact on license holders and the responsibilities that insolvency practitioners have to report and deal with such offences. We will also look at the practical aspects of being confronted with a serious fraud and examine the different issues that arise in both the criminal and civil courts.
“This is the latest in a series of seminars especially for insolvency practitioners, lenders and accountants based in the North West. We are able to deliver two key external speakers, who are regularly appearing before the courts, dealing with large frauds. There will also be the opportunity to network with other like-minded professionals.”
