Budding business people and those who have only recently started their own businesses in Greater Manchester are encouraged to attend the next in a series of ‘master classes’ delivered by the Business Growth Hub.
The aim of the event, which is on Thursday 23rd January at The Landing, Blue Tower, MediaCityUk in Salford, will be to provide new entrepreneurs with practical advice and support to complete legal paperwork to register as a business and understand their legal obligations towards Companies House and HMRC.
The Growth Start Up Programme is an intensive programme of support for those wishing to start their own business who have the potential to employ five staff within and/or turnover in excess of £250k within three years.
The morning session will focus on the legal aspects of forming a company, while taxation issues will be the topic for the afternoon session.
Nicola Whittle, a commercial solicitor at Stephensons Solicitors LLP, is among the speaker who will help to deliver the legal session in the morning alongside the Growth Hub. Nicola said: “Setting up a new business, particularly in the current economic climate, can be daunting and so my part of the master class will look at shareholder agreements. The rest of the morning session will include a practical overview of the legal structures available to new businesses, the legal documents needed to set up a business and review the incorporation process.
The second part of the master class, from 1pm-4pm, will ensure new businesses are up to speed with how to meet their legal obligations to Companies House and HMRC. This will be delivered by Claire Kennedy from Beever and Struthers.
Attendees can book onto a half or full day and following each master class, there will be a Q&A session with the speakers. The seminar begins at 9.30am and concludes at 4pm on January 23rd 2014. Those wishing to attend should contact Business Growth Hub by calling 0161 237 4472 or by email to robert.Jenkins@businessgrowthhub.com.
